Quilt Show
Join us at our 2009 Quilt Show
The East Iowa Heirloom Quilters of Cedar Rapids/Marion, Iowa present Picking Up The Pieces, a show featuring over 400 quilts, each exquisitely designed and beautifully hand-quilted and/or machine-quilted by our talented members. Our quilt shows are well known for a variety of traditional and contemporary quilts ranging in size from large bed quilts to small wall quilts.
The Show will feature a Silent Auction of quilted items with all proceeds going to the Cedar Rapids Library flood recovery. The Cedar Rapids Library building and collection was destroyed by the flood of 2008.

Show Features
Featured Quilters
Judy Greco and Sharon Schmiedel are our featured quilters for the 2009 Show. They will have a special exhibit of quilts at the Show and will be present to show and discuss their quilts. In addition, they will provide quilting demonstrations during the Show.
Raffle Quilt
Our raffle quilt, Beyond the Storms, was pieced and quilted by Guild members. Tickets to win this quilt are $1.00 each
and can be purchased from any EIHQ member or by contacting Debbie. Tickets will
also be sold at the show. The drawing for the winner of the quilt will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20. You
need not be present to win.
Special Feature
Karen McTavish, an international award-winning quilter will be presenting and teaching at our Show on Friday and Saturday. (Click on Karen McTavish to learn more.)

Special Exhibit
A special exhibit of quilts made by Guild members with the theme of the Show, Picking Up the Pieces, will be hung in the Show. Many of these quilts will be for sale with proceeds going to the Cedar Rapids Library recovery after the devastating flood of 2008.

Concessions
The concession area will be open during the hours of the Show serving food and drinks.
Parking
Plenty of free parking is available near the exhibit hall.
Bus Groups
Bus Groups are invited with ample bus parking near the Exhibit Hall. Arrangements for discounted admission must be made prior to September 1, 2009 and can be made by contacting Fonda.
